Ashland County Ohio Photos

Ashand County is a good mix of rural scenes, industry, and unique natural features found at Mohican State Park. Located in the North-Central part of Ohio, there is easy access from Columbus and Cleveland. The shallow Mohican river provides good canoeing and small watercraft boating. Unlike many of Ohio's covered bridges, Mohican's bridge is the backdrop for a great time around the river. For more information check your state parks listings.

Mohican State Park is in the Mohican Memorial National forest. High cliffs, wild animals, and natural beauty are encounters to be expected here. The natural resources of this area are the heart of Ashland County. Take care and in the area, if you slip and fall, you'll become one of the statistics of hikers injured in the rough terrain. Some trails here can get rough.

Some would consider Ashland County as part of Ohio's Amish Country. You have to get out into the countryside to see the Amish life though. Many famous people are from the area with the Studebakers of Pleasant Ridge being arguably the most notable.

Check your state park listings for more information about the Mohican State Park Lodge and the state park camping facilities. Many privately ran adventure businesses like canoe liveries and horseback riding are in the area also.
